Drinking Coffee is Good for You - Better than You May Think

“Coffee is a language within itself.” -Jackie Chan

Whether you drink it for the buzz or the taste, there’s something about coffee that just makes you keep coming back. The first sip you take from a cup of coffee always feels a little different.

People tend to think that coffee is addictive and causes problems in the long run, but we are here today to show you why it may actually help you live longer and healthier. Sit back and relax as we dive into 4 health benefits of coffee!

  1. Drinking Coffee Lowers the Risk of Various Diseases

One of the primary reasons why coffee is known to be good for your health is that it lowers your risk of health-related problems.  Some examples are:

  • Heart Disease
  • Liver Cancer
  • Stroke
  • Type 2 Diabetes

The correlation between coffee consumption and risks of certain diseases is still not fully certain, but the high number of antioxidants in coffee help protect cells in the body, which is a possible factor.

  1. Coffee can Strengthen Your DNA

As we get older our bodies get more fragile, and sometimes this may turn into a vital situation. Studies show that coffee positively affects our DNA strength, helping it to be more resistant.

  1. Coffee may Decrease the Risk of Alzheimer’s Disease

The caffeine amount in just a few cups of coffee can have a dramatic effect against developing the disease. Researchers found that women age 65 and older were less likely to develop dementia if they drank 2 cups of coffee a day.

  1. Coffee can Improve Your Mental Health

Other than the ‘first sip feeling’ mentioned before, coffee may have other mood benefits than just lifting up your spirit. One study suggests that there is an 8% reduced risk of developing depression per average cup of coffee consumed per day. To ensure that you start your day with the perfect cup of coffee, don't forget to check out our collection of mug warmers.

All that being said, don't get too carried away with coffee!

Coffee is simply best if you get the amount right. Drink too much and you may feel jitters, or have heart palpitations. For most people this is not an issue at all, as ‘too much’ is relatively around 400-500 milligrams of caffeine, equating to around five or six cups.

Now that you know the benefits, take care of yourself and don’t forget to enjoy your coffee! Check out our FAQ for more information on our cup warmers, mugs and more!
